My internet connection was down all day yet again yesterday. If you remember I was down for about a week not a couple of months ago. I called and demanded a week’s refund on my bill. Since I had no service I didn’t see at the time why I should’ve been paying for it.
But since then I’ve had bouts where my server was down for minutes or a couple of hours at a time. Yesterday was the final straw. I had made a start on my first written assignment the day before and I had found a great article on the same subject that I could use as a reference which I wanted to continue yesterday but couldn’t.
I’ve cancelled my contract with Virgin Media and given them a month’s notice as is the requirement. But before that I gave Sky a call and signed up to the broadband and phone call package, to go alongside our tv package. The difference between the Sky package and the Virgin Media package I’m paying for at the moment is nearly £50 per month. Of course there was the usual patter of trying to get me to stay, reducing the cost of my current package, even offering me a month’s refund. What’s the point? Until the next time when the internet goes down, for a week.
There will be a transition from Virgin Media to Sky and I daresay I’ll probably lose a few days anyway, but I’ll be breathing a huge sigh of relief when I leave Virgin Media behind.
