my, aren’t I a chatterbox today?

If you’re in the UK then you’ll know what I’m wittering on about. In order to help pay for my first course in my degree, I’ve traded in some of my (shopping) loyalty card vouchers for money off my first course. For every £10 in money vouchers you can get £40 for certain educational courses.Which is a brilliant idea.

I may have mentioned before, I want to do an openings course, just to get me back into the swing of essay writing again, so I’m going to do this course, starting again in September. It also does count towards my degree. It’s only £120, but with my Tesco’s vouchers, it’ll cost only £80. It’ll give me time to save up for the second course which is £650, or with more Tesco vouchers, even less.

Well, you know what their motto is, “Every little helps.” Never a truer word said in my case.

I think I may go ahead and start it a bit earlier than anticipated.

I’ve taken another look at the Open University website, obviously reading more about the Criminology degree that I want to do and there’s an Openings course on “Understanding Society”, which is kind of a segue into the more fully-fledged course I’m going to start in October. It’s a short course for those (like me) who haven’t written an essay in some time. In my case over 20yrs (eep!) so I reckon it’s a good idea to start right from the beginning. And it does count towards the degree.

It starts in June, which is good timing, as I can register for it when I get back from New York in April.

Wish me luck.
