A good day today.
Friday, November 6th, 2009After all the email exchanges, I finally got to meet the gentleman that wouldn’t take no for an answer. The gentleman who was willing to go to great lengths to get me to come to Edinburgh. And I’m glad he did. I’m loving Edinburgh and he and I had a wonderful afternoon today. Totally in awe of my backside, can I say.
Make sure you wear some jeans he says. Bring your stockings and sussies he says. Remember your pvc skirt as well, he says. What happens? I don’t think I was more than two minutes in my pvc skirt before he had it off, all other changes of clothes out the window. Well, not literally. You know what I mean, lol.
And talk about coming prepared. The plan was for me to meet him at his hotel, so I brought along some juice and a bottle of water, as it was going to be a long and sweaty (if I could help it) afternoon. He’d also brought some water for us and, bless him, a box of chocolate-covered vanilla fudge. That box will be opened sometime this evening. Anyway, guess what he also bought by way of preparation? Safetly pins! Safety pins I hear you say. No, he’s not turning retro punk, lol.
It seems the darned curtains in his hotel room wouldn’t close completely and as he was on the ground floor we didn’t exactly have the privacy we needed. So before I turned up, he’d gone out and bought safety pins and pinned the heavy curtains from top to bottom. It did look a little incongruous and it gave me a laugh. Swift thinking on his part I thought. Otherwise imagine the show we would have put on for passers-by outside.
Back to my hotel by half five and stopped guess where for dinner? Yeah, ye olde pie and mash shoppe, this time for a scotch pie, mash and gravy. Great customer, great chocolates, great pie. Oh happy day.
